Hello there, my name is Scott. I am the founder of Finest Knife, a blog that will be more like an in depth guide designed to help the anybody who is interested in cooking learn about knives and how to use them in the kitchen properly. My hopes are that this site will be an authority in the knife industry where people will come and share their passion for kitchen knives.
Before I get into our mission I would like to share a few words with you about who I am and why I am so passionate about these beautiful kitchen utensils. As a boy, I spent a lot of time in the kitchen with my mother because I was an only child. She was a semi-popular chef in Manhattan and she would spend a lot of time teaching me how to cook in order to bond with me. The one thing I learned from her was how important the kitchen knife is to a chef.
Twenty years later and I have still not forgotten the lessons she has taught me. I did not become a chef but I cook every single day and obsess about maintaining the utensil that we treasured in my household– the kitchen knife. Now that I have gotten that out of the way, I will reveal to you why I have decided to start Finest Knife.
Why Start Finest Knife?
- The topic of knife kills has been typically untouched in food magazines, cook books, and cooking programs on television. With this site, I hope to change that.
- There are many different types of knives on the market. This could cause the average person to get overwhelmed. You will learn about every single type of knife and what it actually can do so you can choose the one that is best according to your needs.
- Educate you on the types of brands available and recommend the best knives to buy so you don’t have to waste time performing the research.
- Teach you how to wield a knife with ease and with minimal stress so preparing a meal for your family will take up less of your time.
Books about knife skills are usually meant only for chefs and tend to be on the expensive side. My hopes are that this blog can be a comprehensive guide about knives and how to use them that everybody can get access to. As time passes and the site grows, this site will be your constant companion in the kitchen because it will not only improve your skills but also your reputation in the kitchen.
